Not knowing anything about this little gem of a new hotel decorating the new upcoming harbor front in Hamburg.. And slightly disturbed by their 90's corporate identity, I was thrilled to walk into a reacption made of old ship containers and long plank wood.
It takes the inspiration from what would look like a dirty and buzzing industrial harbor. It's quite cool and very well put together.
The lobby also hosts a wavy bookshelf wall boosting with really cool and well picked magazines, Holga cameras, skate board design books, modern atlas and overall very wide but tightly selected concept-ish items. Bravo.
The rooms are overly cool too. Wall paper of old sailor tattoos, think I might have spotted Any Winehouse, John Lennon some where in there too.
You do get the sense of sleeping in an old tanker or a discovery ship, especially when you discover a log book on a modern version of a large ships trunk remade into a desk.
Well I'll let the images speak for themselves.
The resto (with the open kitchen) is wonderful too. All beautifully served. The menu boasts of freshness and something for everyone.
