Looking for oeuf mayonnaise or steak frites?
The female version of Cartier.
A bite of culture (good as bad), French country, fat, rude and classic!

Affordable elegant and tasty french Bistro!

Haven't been to a better place for a long time!
Great settings, simply amazing food. It's simple, well cooked and beautifully served.
Yves Camdeborde (the owner) used to be part of the Crillon team and one of the first chefs to embrace the concept of gastro bistro.
They don't take reservations! Get in line or get here early.

Mama shelter

Hotel resto with funny details. You could argue that they try a bit too hard with details already seen (fat duck, vapiano, kong) never the less it works.
And the traditional farmer food menu goes down very easily after a few of those very cool designed aperitivos.
What can I say, I had a great time there and the funky Amy Winehouse look alike DJ had some pretty sweet tunes.
By the way - if you want to get there, get a taxi!

Hotel du Nord

Located in the same spot as the film 'Hotel du Nord'.
Next to canal st. Martin. Very lovely, serves traditional but modernized dished with a good Parisian crowd.

La Conserverie

A bit hidden away from the Blv. Bonne Nouvelle and other hideous cafées around REX.
There's no name on the door so you have to peep through the windows to know if you're there and to get a view of hand painted cumulus cloud chairs, red velvet curtains and cozy atmosphere.
As the name says - the concept is food which comes in a can. Of cause it's very chic canned food, there is no doubt.
I got foi gras (against my better judgement) and some extremely good spiced chili sardines. Of cause there are a list of plats to chose from as well, but who wanna bother with that when they offer amazing international tapas?
The drinks list is quite interesting with a few surprising cocktails like ti'punch and a Pimm's Cup (vodka based) - super fresh, very delicate with cucumber, orange and apple!! Yum!
They have live jazz music too...

Chartier

An Absolute classic since 1896. A time capsule really.
Rude and annoyed waiters, the client is always wrong and you have to know what you want, this is what you pay for!
It's an institution!
They write down your order on the paper dinner napkin.
The food is really basic, but with all those local fresh ingredients you can really taste all the delicate details.
This is not a place to hang, you get in, you eat and you get out!

H.A.N.D (Have A Nice Day)

Newest diner on the Parisian hamburger branch. Ohh la laaaaaa.
Chic hamburger heaven.
It's a must eat if you're a burger foodie.
This was was my birthday dinner, well almost, or should I say the last dinner before it turned midnight and I turned a year older, the cupcake was well over midnight!

Le Chateaubriand

Bistrochic.
Run across the street to the wine shop/bar
if you have to wait for a table,
have a glass champagne while you wait.
But I recommend booking a table in advance!

Retro Clignancourt café pearl

This is one of those places that you can't remember the address on...
I can find my way again, but where exactly - I can't remember.
On my way back from one of my raids at the Clignancourt market I needed a little refreshment and just walk in the first and best café on my way (it's really next to the Clignancourt metro!) I immediately discovered this 70s time-capsule!
Yeah!! They probably don't even know they have a fortune stacked in 70s designer furniture!!??

Corso / Italia

I got won over by the interior,
they serve good italien dishes,
it's basic, not any surprises,
but they do it well,
the cocktails are not bad either!
